Have Turkish Airlines created another YouTube sensation? Basketball stars come together to raise further brand awareness for the airline.
In 2010, Turkish Airlines announced a €15 million strategic agreement to sponsor the top European basketball competition, Euroleague, around the world. This was an exceptionally clever marketing tool for the airline, who also made the agreement that the competition will be named ‘Turkish Airlines Euroleague Basketball’.
In January of this year, we reported on their advert which featured, Kobe Bryant and Lionel Messi in ‘The Selfie Shootout’ to promote the fact that they fly to more countries than any other airline. It was a YouTube sensation, with the current view count standing at 137,487,898.
Their second advert, which went live on YouTube on Tuesday, has already managed to reach an impressive 953,937 views. This time the commercial displays a choreographed basketball dunk, featuring top basketball stars, Shawn James, Kyle Hines, Robin Benzing and Sergio Rodriguez.
