Michael O’Leary at World Low Cost Airlines Congress 2013

Michael Oleary

Michael O'Leary, the Chief Executive of Ryanair (like you didn't know already), has confirmed his appearance for the World Low Cost Airlines Congress 2013.

Michael will be interviewed by Stephen Sackur from the BBC's HARDtalk. We're looking forward to some insight into Ryanair's future domination of Europe and whether their low cost model is sustainable against other low cost airline strategies. Keeping an eye on the Ryanair- Aer Lingus deal, the most recent bid has, again, been blocked. The situation will of course be different by the time we get to the event, so let the deal unfold!

Hopefully, (no doubt) we'll have some Michael O'Leary gold at the event. Here's a reminder of some of his previous quotes:

– About passengers who forget to print boarding passes: "We think [they] should pay 60 euros for being so stupid."

– “People say the customer is always right, but you know what – they’re not. Sometimes they are wrong and they need to be told so.”

– “Anyone who thinks Ryanair flights are some sort of bastion of sanctity where you can contemplate your navel is wrong. We already bombard you with as many in-flight announcements and trolleys as we can. Anyone who looks like they're sleeping, we wake them up to sell them things.”

It looks to be an interesting year for the World Low Cost Airlines Congress…
