Interview With Aer Lingus: ‘The future for many older airlines is bleak’

The low cost Irish based carrier, Aer Lingus, has often shown that it is at the forefront of technology. They launched their in-flight wi-fi in 2013, becoming one of only two EU airlines to do so after Lufthansa. In 2012, Ravi Simhambhatla, was appointed as their Chief Technology Officer, we caught up with the man himself, to find out what technology passengers can expect to see from the airline, and why it is so important in enhancing the passenger experience.

Q1. Consumer technology is developing quicker than corporate technology, which is putting pressure on the aviation industry to keep up with rising expectations. How is Aer Lingus using mobile innovations to keep up with the always connected traveller?
