Delta are introducing their ‘Innovation Class’ – a mentoring program that takes place at 35,000 ft.
Hand picked leaders will be traveling to select events around the globe. They’ll be sitting in the Mentor seat and the seat next to them will be open.
Delta are offering up and coming innovators the chance to sit in that seat, meeting the mentor and using some of their valuable time to discuss ideas.
A cooperative program with LinkedIn this seems like a good way to engage people trying to make it to the top while making use of busy leaders time.
The idea is slightly similar to British Airways Ungrounded innovation lab that gathers experts to solve problems before they land. Turkish Airlines also launched an onboard startup pitch competition recently which is along the same lines. What do you think to this program?
