One of the key issues that cost’s airlines money is their Look to Book Ratio (LTBR). The look to book ratio is be defined as the number of people looking at your airfares vs the actual number of bookings. In an optimal world everyone searching your site will actually be looking to book. Unfortunately this is not the case.
From our experience we have noticed that a majority of searches on Airline website’s are actually coming from bots. These bots can come in may forms however the most common are price scraping bots. These can be from competitors scraping your fares for the day, or even good scrapers such as Skyscanner.
The issue is that anytime a bot is accessing Airlines information it costs airlines money as the bots are simply scraping your fares.
