From 8am on Day 1 until 4pm on Day 2, Aviation Festival Americas 2015 was buzzing. Ben Baldanza’s high energy opening keynote session set the tone. A tough act to follow, Frontier’s President Barry Biffle and LAN Colombia’s CEO Hernan Pasman were equally as fantastic, offering critical insights on growth opportunities in their respective regions.

Following the opening keynotes, everyone was able to meet each other during the speed networking break. It was amazing to have the attendee breakdown consisting of over 50% airlines.

The content continued strong throughout the day touching upon key ancillary revenue strategies as well as NDC opportunities.

The day concluded in Aviation Festival Americas tradition – with the cocktail reception and paper airplane contest! EveryMundo was declared the winner and popped the bottle of champagne!

Day 2 began with a terrific start with a unique Q&A between 2 low cost carriers from Korea and Thailand. Respectively, Ken Choi (CEO of Jeju Air) and Patee Sarasin (CEO of Nok Air) lit up the stage. It was quite interesting to hear how these differing cultures approach the airline industry. Patee compared his Nok Air brand to Apple and Coca-Cola, as they are often viewed as one of the top 5 brands in Thailand.

After two full days of networking, incredible sessions and connections, most jumped on their own airline or redeemed more miles and flew off into the sunset, eager to return for 2016.
