ld renowned data guru Nate Silver is now attempting to apply data tools in order to predict which flights and airlines will get you to your destination in the most timely fashion. His site, FiveThirtyEight analyzed 6 million flights to figure out which airports, airlines and routes are most likely to get you there on time and which ones will leave you waiting.  In 2014, the 6 million domestic flights the U.S. government tracked required an extra 80 million minutes to reach their destinations. At 80 passengers per flight, that works out to an extra 12,000 years in transit. Hope you brought a good book along.
