Punk Rock Fashion Icon Vivienne Westwood has teamed up with Virgin Atlantic to create arguably the most stylish uniform there has ever been.
The launch night for the uniform, which took place in London last night, was as glamorous as the creation itself with dozens of stars attending to pay witness to Westwood’s latest design.
To add an extra touch of genius to the outfit, Westwood also revealed that the polyester used for the uniforms, had been made out of recycled plastic bottles.
The new uniform, which consists of 22 pieces in total, will be given to over 7, 500 staff, including cabin crew, pilots, Clubhouse staff and Virgin Holidays employees. And whilst Virgin might be moving rapidly forward with their space travel, Westwood went back in time, creating a look which paid homage to the 1940s.
In speaking about their new partnership, Virgin Atlantic said; ‘
‘She was the natural choice to redesign the uniform across all areas of our business. Firstly because original design and sustainability are vital to both Virgin Atlantic and Vivienne Westwood. And this long term partnership brings those ideals together in an exciting and innovative collaboration.’
