Last week Southwest surprised passengers on flight 1883 with a free Nintendo Wii U.
Parents breathe sighs of relief as they no longer have to splash out for the kids Christmas presents, kids go nuts thinking it’s an extra Christmas come early and the older/more techie crowd question it’s relevance to them hoping it’s the new heavily advertised PS4. Or easily sell-able on Ebay.
Southwest have a new marketing partnership with Nintendo. This means not only lavish giveaways but we’ll be seeing “gaming lounges” open at Southwest hubs. As the AV club mention, just in time for thousands of passengers to be sharing controllers and germs for flu season.
Is this the best giveaway? Could they have gained more publicity from an Xbox or Playstation contract? Let me know your thoughts.
